Anodox will deliver pre-series quantities to Roam’s assembly lines in Kenya during 2023, with a quick ramp up to large volumes. The battery has been tightly packaged to fit the vehicle frame and weighs ≅20 kg. The Roam Air can carry two packs, each with a 3 kWh rating. The batteries can be swapped within minutes either by the rider or at dedicated stations. The Roam Air can reach speeds of 90 km/h (56 mph) and has a range of up to 180 km (112 mi), with dual battery packs installed.
“We are delighted to support Roam in establishing the standard for electric mobility in Africa. Our engineers relished the challenge of meeting Roam’s cost-to-performance ratio requirements. Anodox has been able to deliver a solution that offers the safety and reliability needed to ensure the success of the Roam Air at a purchase price that is near cost parity with petrol but has a significantly lower running cost.” - Tom Walsh, Co-founder Anodox
“We’re excited to develop this relationship with Anodox. We couldn’t have asked for a better delivery partner for battery packs. Their expertise and experience within the industry are stellar, and enables us to meet demanding cost, time, and quality requirements. Our aim now is to ensure the assembly line in Kenya can meet the demand for Roam Air from customers across Africa.” - Filip Lövström, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer at Roam
